Mindy Kaling writes and stars in this American comedy also starring Emma Thompson. When ruthless, straight-shooting TV show host Katherine (Thompson) discovers that she only has one more year left of her post, she sets out to uncover why she is losing popularity with the public. Her subordinates, however, are too afraid to speak the truth in case of being fired like many of their colleagues, so it is up to new writer Molly (Kaling) to step forward and offer a new direction for the show. Soon, Katherine and Molly begin to form a bond as they work together to save the star's late-night slot.
